Ground Training (2-4 Hours):
Review FARs, NOTAMs, weather interpretation, airspace updates, and best practices.
Refamiliarize yourself with flight planning tools, charts, and EFBs like ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot.
Flight Training (2-6 Hours):
Preflight inspections and checklist usage.
Core flight maneuvers, including stalls, steep turns, slow flight, and pattern work.
Cross-country navigation and communication practice.
Landing techniques and scenario-based emergency training.
Certificate and Logbook Endorsement:
Upon successful completion, receive a logbook endorsement certifying that you’ve met the requirements for a Flight Review (per FAR 61.56).

As a rusty pilot, you have multiple optins to get medically certified to fly again. BasicMed is an FAA-approved alternative to the traditional third-class medical certificate and is ideal for many general aviation pilots.
BasicMed Highlights:
Valid U.S. driver's license required
Must have held an FAA medical certificate (any class) valid after July 14, 2006
Complete an online medical education course every 24 months
Undergo a physical exam with a state-licensed physician every 48 months
Keep your completed exam checklist and course completion certificate in your logbook
BasicMed Operating Limitations (Updated Nov 2024):
Aircraft certified for up to 7 occupants (including pilot)
Maximum certificated takeoff weight up to 12,500 pounds
Operate within the U.S., below 18,000 feet MSL, at speeds not exceeding 250 knots
Flight instruction allowed, though other operations for compensation or hire are prohibited
